This morning we made a batch of Lemon and Geranium Body Butter. As we go into Autumn and the weather cools, I find my skin is drier and in need of a little extra care. So I’ve started using a little body butter on my face (when it’s still damp) as a soothing moisturiser. It seems to really help guard against the weather and the drying effect of central heating.
The Body Butter is full of nourishing coconut oil and shea butter, so it feels luxurious. The essential oils of Lemon and Geranium are uplifting and encouraging (especially on a rainy morning!). The base note of Sandalwood grounds the floral scents and makes a lovely balance. In ‘The Fragrant Pharmacy’, Valerie Ann Worwood writes that Geranium “brings a radiant glow when used in skin care”, so that sounds promising! Keep glowing through the darker days.
